πΊ Jump on the Bandwagon β Daily Idiom #18
Ep #18 teaches "jump on the bandwagon" β to start doing something because it has become popular or fashionable β through three 4:5 flat-illustration cards: a festive crowd literally leaping onto a moving parade bandwagon, a bold eggplant-purple definition card, and a natural office dialogue where two characters discuss a trending budgeting app.
Spotted a new app everyone's downloading? A trend you almost ignored, then couldn't resist?
That's jumping on the bandwagon β and there's nothing wrong with it.
The phrase goes back to 19th-century political campaigns, when candidates would literally ride through town on a horse-drawn wagon with a band playing. Supporters who climbed aboard were "jumping on the bandwagon."
Today it just means joining something because it's gotten popular.
